About the project
This client has resided abroad for over 25 years and is accustomed to the Western style of living. With this in mind, we have purposefully designed a studio apartment for the sisters who visit India once a year. They possess property in the Worli locality and have chosen to renovate the space to align with their specific needs and comfort.
The concept of minimalism was intentionally chosen as the best fit for the given space, with storage being of least priority. The use of wooden texture was deliberately limited to highlight only select areas in the house. The panels, such as the bed back and the study dado in the bedrooms, were strategically highlighted against the subtle use of solid colour in the bedroom.
The minimal but fully functional kitchen was of utmost importance, and hence, designing a space that fulfils all their needs under one roof became a priority.
The bedroom was designed to be comfortable for a couple, with enough space for a wardrobe, study table, and bed on one side. Taking advantage of the structure, a dedicated space for getting ready and storing daily utilities could be managed inside the bedroom without encroaching on the bedroom space.
