The Eagleton – Jain Residence at One Hiranandani Park, Thane, is a beautifully crafted 4BHK apartment with open living spaces, nature-inspired finishes, vibrant children’s rooms, and a contemporary master bedroom, embodying thoughtful design for modern living.

About the project

The client sought a residence that authentically represents their collective identity. The apartment benefits from unobstructed views and ventilation, as there are no surrounding buildings that hinder these features. Consequently, we opted to maintain an open floor plan for the living and dining area, devoid of any visual barriers. The main entrance opens into a hallway that is defined by a continuous veneered ceiling extending along one wall. This veneered ceiling extends seamlessly to the bedroom lobby, unifying all surfaces connected to this volume, including the floor and walls, with natural wood finishes. This intentional design approach creates the perception of a singular, cohesive space within the overall area.

Based on the client’s requirements, it was imperative to allocate space for yoga and recreational activities. Consequently, the 4th bedroom was repurposed into an activity room. The laminated panel adjacent to the window was selected to harmonise with the natural wood colour palette, thus enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the room with a balanced and colourful touch. The incorporation of a brick wall was a deliberate choice aimed at introducing a rustic ambiance into the semi-public areas.

The dimensions of the parents’ bedroom rendered it smaller in comparison to the other bedrooms. In response, we opted to employ mirrors within the interior to create an illusion of spaciousness, thereby achieving a visually enlarged area. Our design approach entailed evoking an earthy and nature-inspired ambiance, reflected in the selection of a veneer closely resembling wooden tones. The headboard was crafted to reach a substantial height, extending to the ceiling and adorned with a symmetrical-asymmetrical pattern and upholstery. Thus, the adage, “Behind every attractive room, there should be a very good reason,” aptly characterises the room’s design.

Children’s bedrooms exude a magical ambiance. Upon entering, they immediately uplift one’s spirits with vibrant colours and playful accessories. Each child’s personal space boasts a unique touch, whether it be the incorporation of their favoured hues on the walls or the presence of cherished toys. The pervasive white laminate in the entirety of the room serves to reflect light, thus brightening the area with the infusion of the child’s preferred colours. Furthermore, the introduction of wooden accents behind the bed breaks the monotony of the prevailing whites. Recognizing the contemporary need for storage, given the inevitable clutter that ensues from children’s play and study activities, the area adjacent to the wardrobe and study table has been repurposed into a storage unit for toys and books.

The master bedroom, often the largest and most desirable in a home, typically boasts the best views and location. Vexingly, the colour and pattern constitute pivotal factors in defining this space. The strategic interplay of dark and light colours and intricate patterns requires careful consideration. When adorned with wallpaper, the room becomes vibrant, while the integration of headboard and bedding creates a cohesive visual appeal. The deployment of book-match statuario tile on the TV panel adds an aesthetic dimension to the master bedroom. Furthermore, the fusion of veneer and mirror in the walk-in closet serves as an augmenting feature enhancing the spatial quality of the closet. The consistent horizontal veneer pattern contributes to seamlessly blending the bathroom entry with the surrounding panel surfaces.

In the realm of contemporary kitchen design, a focus on streamlined and minimalist aesthetics is prevalent, characterised by clean lines, open spaces, and the utilisation of highly functional materials such as wood and stone. A well-executed kitchen design should facilitate the seamless movement of at least three individuals across the working triangle, encompassing the Hob, Sink, and Refrigerator, thus mitigating congestion. The introduction of a breakfast counter at the kitchen entrance not only fosters a sense of interconnectedness but also engenders an environment conducive to conversations spanning from the kitchen to the breakfast counter and beyond to the dining table. Incorporating a window along the breakfast counter creates an illusion of spaciousness within the kitchen, augmented by the tactical use of blinds and a sliding door as visual partitions during hosting endeavors.
